Leg Pain

Leg pain can occur due to a herniated disc without much back pain. It could be an extruded (detached fragment) disc or spinal stenosis. Please click on those topics for further details.

Leg pain only could also be from diabetic neuropathy, tumors in the nerve or bone, narrowed arteries with lack of blood supply, and others. A key point is whether the pain is mechanical. That is, does it get worse with weight bearing or moving around. Or if not, something happening within the leg, as opposed to a pinched nerve in the back, is more likely. Pain in the thigh can be from hip arthritis.
